Images and Information on Railroad Signaling and Communications
AND SOME OF MY OTHER INTERESTS

I suppose this interest of mine started back around 1971 or 1972 when I was walking along the Main Line of the Reading Railroad near my home in Reading, PA.  I was amazed at the colors displayed by these huge signals and tried to understand what they meant and why they were there.  Because  of my  childhood tendency to rip everything apart I put my hands on at home to see what made it work, I was very eager to see how these railroad signals worked, and over the last 20 plus years I was very fortunate to learn many things about railroad signaling.

I have also included pictures and links of telephone equipment and will shortly be adding traffic signals which I also have an interest in.

I hope you enjoy this site and I welcome your comments.  Thanks for stopping by.

BROOKE TOWER, BIRDSBORO, PA.
CIRCA 1977   FRANK SANTUCCI, OPERATOR

Brooke had the smell of several things.  Creosote, battery gas, nicotene, termite shit, lead paint, 3 in one oil and the smell of metal.  It was quite an interesting place to visit.  I was lucky to see it in operating status until it was closed in 1978.
